JoJo hopped onto his dad's skateboard for the first time when he was barely a toddler and from there, he was hooked. Over the next few years, skateboarding was his thing.
At 6, his 'hobby' became a healthy obsession and, since then, JoJo (now 12) continues to train, on average, six hours a day, seven days a week. At 7, he took his first shot at a local contest. Captivated by the adrenaline rush of competing, he needed more.
His parents, Joe and Julia, thrilled with the confidence and selfawareness that they saw developing in their son (along with the close bonds that he was forming with other kids that shared his passion for the sport), committed to taking JoJo and his younger brother Julian around the country to compete in as many amateur contests as they could; including Grind for Life, Hot Wheels Junior Series and Vans Amateur Cambi Pool Classic. JoJo was selected to be one of eight international youth skaters to compete in the first Nitro Junior Games.
But, JoJo isn't Just a talented skateboarder. He's a person of character and conviction; aware of and concerned with how his behavior and lifestyle impact the environment. In addition to being a vegan, he rides for Bamboo Skateboards because their boards are made from a renewable resource (it also helps that their strength and performance are superior) Simply put, the kid is a born leader in a generation that desperately needs them. So, it's no wonder that he's recognized and respected for his unique personality and, of course, for his blue hair.
